My films
Here you can see some of my recent films showing scenes from mysterious world of insects. Most of the species I breed at home.
Presented films are recorded in Full HD. I used Sony NEX-VG10 camera body equipped with Micro Nikkor lenses and Nikon close-up accessories.
To see films in FHD, please change the resolution into 720p HD after start-up the film as well as the full screen option. Welcome.
Endromis versicolora life cycle
The 17 minutes film shows development stages of European moth Endromis versicolora moth: laying eggs by female, hatched larvae from eggs, their various stages of caterpillars, molting, pupating. You can see an adult moth both male and female also mating. The butterfly has a wing span of 6-8 cm (female) and 5-6 cm (male). Larvae live on birch tree only.
Film is available in 1080p HD. I recommend to switch and see in full resolution. Welcome.
All about developing Butterfly Brahmaea tancrei
Over 22 minute film shows the full development of the tropical Asian moth Brahmaea tancrei. I realised the film during breeding of the insect. Several of the items below, is also a short documentation of hatching larva of this Butterfly from the egg. I recommend to switch to 720 p HD. I invite!
Insect parazitoids
The larvae and pupa of butterflies often become infected by parasiting in their body other larvae of insects Diptera (Tachinidae), or Terebrantes who after leaving the body of the host themselves do change through to adult insect. The Film shows several scenes of such cases.
Attacus atlas – the World biggest moth
The Film shows the details of the development of one of the largest moths in the world. In nature it lives in the tropical forests of Asia. You can view here the hatched larvae from eggs, their various stages of caterpillars, molting, pupating, and finally you can see an adult insect-big moth with a wing span of over 20 cm! My advice is to change resolution to 720p.
Rothschildia lebeau inca moth from South America.
The Film shows the development of the larvae of the South American moth Rothschildia lebeau inca.. I wish to thank my friend Robert Talarczyk who gave me the larvae for filming as a gift. At the end of the movie there is a picture of a butterfly-female stacked in HDR. The Film is also available in high-definition 720 p.
